Q. Why is the Trucker's Workstation^TM now called the Generation 3?

A.This the 3rd release of this innovative and patented design which was originally invented and patented by a long haul truck driver. Since that time, Cyber Trucker has listened closely to the suggestions of hundreds of drivers. Since the product was released in 2005, improvements based on other truck driver's suggestions have led to updated and improved versions of the original design. Improvements in the quick release system, USB powered fans and other detailed refinements all come straight from the road. Driver's requests really do get heard at Cyber Trucker. The innovative frame (now black powder coated for a cleaner factory installed look) was truly born by the 'mother' of all invention. "Born of 'necessity'" and conceived by a trucker in the cab of his truck, this is simply the very best way to mount a laptop for use in a commercial truck.

All brackets are included and have special cutouts which allow installtion in any truck on any air ride seat. Proper installation and utlzation of the provided hard ware has developed over the years. Your laptop stand will not rattle or move once it is properly installed. It will be a very secure and solid addition to your truck. No plastic parts, this product is truly built to stand up in the rugged invirorment of long haul trucking.

Q. How do I supply power to the cooling fans?

A.The cooling systems will greatly extend your laptop's life and improve its performance. The Truckers Workstation uses twin fans. The fans are powered by your laptop. Simply plug the USB plug in to any USB port on your laptop. The fans have been extensively tested for safe maximum life, cooling capacity and low electrical drain. There is no risk to your laptops USB port. The electrical drain may affect your laptop battery life if battery power only is used. However, if your laptop is powered by an inverter there is absolutely no effect on the laptop.

Q. Will the Workstations interfere with a rider in the passenger's seat?

A. No. The Workstation mounting systems adjust forward, rearward, inward and outward from the passenger seat. Once you have positioned the unit where you want it, simply tighten the bolts and you are set. In addition, the cradle that holds the laptop pivots and swivels in all directions for a universal adjustment. Your passsenger may turn the laptop to face them. The quick release allows easy removal so the passenger can move between the bunk area and passenger seat. This makes it ideal for team operations and husband and wife operations. The laptop is accessible from the passenger seat or the drivers seat at all times.

Q. Will my Workstation accommodate any size laptop?

A.. On the Trucker's Workstation^TM the sides of the tray and the backrest adjust to fit nearly any size laptop. However, if you have a large laptop and a small truck cab, you are going to have to work with the frames adjustments more. A 15 and half inch laptop is the ideal size for most trucks. This has nothing to do with the laptop stand. The Truckers Workstation can hold any laptop up to 19 inches wide. What you run into is your trying to put a large item in a small space. If you have a large cab like some of the Volvos or a Peterbilt 387, you will have room for the really big laptops. Try putting a 19 inch laptop in an old 379 with a narrow cab. It is like tying to fit a size 12 foot in a size 9 shoe.

Bigger is not always better. Also don't get a laptop that is to small. It will be harder to see from the drivers seat. A 17 inch is about as big as you really want to go if you have a large cab. 19 inch will work but it will take careful fitting around the dash and gear shifter. You will need to utilize the installation disk (included) to see all the various adjustments that can be made to the stand. Each stand comes with this installation disk in the box. There are dozens of color pictures of nearly every brand of seat with the stand properly installed.
